Merry Christmas From Chronicle Book Club!
Join us as we cosy up this Christmas for our seasonal festivities.
It’s Chrrrriiiiissttttmmmmaaaasss!
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope this season has wrapped you in its magic, and that Santa has left a little something special under your tree. In our household, Christmas is a celebration of togetherness - gathering our dearest people in one cosy room and savouring time spent together. This year, we traded our traditional nut roast for a Chinese takeaway, and it was every bit as delightful as it was unconventional.
Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of hosting a small, intimate gathering for this year’s book club. With many of our members scattered across the globe or away from London for the holidays, it was a quieter affair compared to our lively summer meetup. Still, there was a certain charm in the intimacy - a chance to reconnect, swap stories, and, of course, exchange books for a little Christmas cheer.
Our evening was sweetened by a feast of homemade treats: Freddie’s heavenly cake, a cloud-like fruit pavlova, and the irresistible aroma of mulled wine bubbling on the hob. Is there anything more comforting than the warm, spiced scent of mulled wine filling the air? It was a night of laughter, literary musings, and festive frolics that I’ll treasure well into the new year.
Thank you to everyone who joined me in this seasonal celebration. It’s been such a joy to share this little corner of cosiness with you all. I’m excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to continue this wonderful journey with our beloved book club. Here’s to tall tales, literary musings, and the endless adventures waiting to unfold in the year to come!
